An Immersive Banking Launch Like No Other

Opening Scene

NatWest made a brave choice for a banking launch event - and it paid off.

Our brief was clear: Let founders and investors experience what it means to be backed by the right partner at the right moment.

Our response: Creating an immersive experience, with four fictional founders, each a different story, business and commercial problem, linked to a core NVB pillar

By asking guests to interact with performance, set design and food, constructing the brands and worlds of our founders, the audience could step inside the problem, and the solution.

“Working alongside Jenny McNeill and the team at Feast & Fable on the launch of NatWest Venture Banking was a masterclass in creativity, bringing standout storytelling to create something that genuinely resonated with founders and innovators.”

Jenny Edwards
Managing Director,
Head of NatWest Venture Banking

An Experiential Event

Act I

After finding calm at our interactive Recalibration Bar, guests moved between four vignettes, discovering each founder's world.

  • The musician with too many ideas and no structure, inviting guests to write music with him to build a collaborative future.

  • The hospitality-obsessed duo running a kitchen-table supper club, inviting you to sit and eat, in need of some hand-holding to take their ideas global.

  • The green energy campaigner in a seedling greenhouse - asking you to help her power it by riding her spin bike - in need of the right partner to scale from the seeds of growth.

  • The AI visionary, playing three simultaneous chess games in his Cambridge dorm room. An introvert lost in strategy, with no clear path on how to move forward.

The Education Zone:
Meet the People in the Know

Act II

After an hour of interaction, guests moved to the Education Zone - with an introduction to Jenny Edwards, MD of NatWest Venture Banking, followed by a panel discussion with real-life founders and investors.

Meanwhile, beyond closed doors, the sets fully evolved, totally transforming the room before guests reentered.

The Reveal:
From Seed to Exit in One Evening

Act III

Our founders have moved into their end-state, best selves. Their worlds have expanded and their success with it.

  • The musician kicks things off with a live performance of the sing created together. He’s in his newly opened recording studio - the beating heart of his collaborative music sharing platform.

  • The hospitality-obsessed duo now run a global hosting app, bringing the best experiences, stays and food discoveries to the palm of your hand.

  • The green energy campaigner is in a lush, living world, her dreams becoming a reality.

  • The AI visionary now knows his role in life and invites people into his hi-tech world to find their own identity

The Food Design: How Every Dish Told the Founder Story

Food Notes

Food and drinks were interwoven into each founder story, and helped bring the journey arc to reality:

  • Petri dish canapé → abundant maple and molasses bowl, pomegranate, herbs.

  • Takeaway boxes of ‘brain food’ - rarebit topped hashbrowns - ordered by ringing a  bell → Cambridge Mess: black cherry parfait, dark chocolate crumble, burnt butter caramel.

  • DIY dressing bar → La Bomba Perfetta, or Secret Sauce, bottled and sent home with every guest.

  • Canned cocktail from a flight case → aged rum, calvados, pineapple, coconut, lime. "If the Piña Colada went to Normandy for the summer."

The Finale: What Happens When a Brand Backs a Bold Idea

Final Word

NatWest chose to do something different. Not a keynote and a drinks reception, but a full narrative experience that put their guests at the centre of the story. The exceptional feedback that followed was the proof.

When a brand trusts the power of experience over the comfort of convention, the results speak for themselves. That's the kind of work we live for - and the kind of client we love to work with.
