Opening Scene

Subway was changing the way it sandwiched. The formally fully bespoke sandwich chain decided to launch a limited range of hero sandwiches, which you could buy as a fully curated blend of bread + fillings + toppings + sauces.

Enter stage left -
The Subway Series Edible Art Gallery

A space where hero Subway Series sandwiches became works of art. From Great Caesar bring immortalised with Grecian statues meeting grafitti to the Big Breakwich coming to life as a tongue in cheek version of Tracy Emin's Unmade Bed.

This was a space to be explored, to interact with, to discover and to build up the story of Subway Series, chapter by edible art chapter.

The Cast

For press, influencers and invited guests, the Subway Series Edible Art Gallery was an underground playground for all who attended.

With our performers manning a secret speakeasy bar, a Mexican casa / Margarita station, embodying Great Caesar real life statues and inviting everyone to take to their bed for the day, there was Subway fun to be had at every turn.

Subway sandwich artists worked away behind the scenes to bring tasters of the new menu to the audience, while our bar team delivered food matched cocktails.

The Plot

Feast + Fable's founder, Jenny McNeill, worked with visual designer Sally Hogarth to bring each of our five immersive areas to life.

Sally's vision for the build your own sandwich installation was inspired by perspective art work, such as Cornelia Parker's Cold Dark Matter. The piece changed depending on the angle it was viewed from.

Tex Mex was given a blast of colour as it's backdrop, an architectural look at the work of Luis Barragán.

The Finale

All in all 300 invited guests interacted with our Edible Art Gallery for Subway Series. Coming in wave though Soho's Vinyl Factory, the guests climbed inside the story as it unfolded across, inside and around in interactive installations.
